Chinese New Year in Calgary

Our first Chinese New Year together with the kids in Calgary. Certainly we missed my Mom's feast at this time and James mentioned that he missed the tanky music they played everywhere in Taipei at this time of the year. We were so happy that my sisiter in-law and her family can come up to spend the weekend with us. They surely made this holiday heart-warming. We had a hot-pot dinner and we also spend a day of activities that were usually done in 3 weekends. We went to 2 shopping centres, Chinese Culture center for CNY carnaval and swimming. Wow... we were impressed we could have done all those with 3 young kids and we had the best time. We simply love haning out with the Mangals, we really love you tons!!!

Mason was getting a hang of this drum

All Mason needs is lollipop

Can you tell that we just change thier dipers?

Mason's 1st face painting and he chose "ice cream" (if I cannot eat it I might as well have it on my face)

The kids are ready for swimming, how about you parents??

Mason's castle

Mason is such a boy boy. His favorite indoor game is playing in his cusion castle, well its not bricks to him. He'll bring all of his friends (his stuff animals), pillow and blank. Its like his 2nd home at home. This may seem like a break time for mommy but it actually gives me lots of workout because he likes to kick out the cusions then I have to "help" him to build them back again and again.

kiss

Yes, Mason has my lips and I can never resist when he asks for kisses. Okay, I always ask for them and I will get them while I still can.

Is it that hard???

There are many things that I enjoy ever since moving back to Canada but it is certainly NOT the health system or service here. Especially now that I am here with children, I miss Taiwan's health care. I'm not asking much but I only want it to be available when I need it. It took 3 months for us to finally find a "part-time" family doctor to "accept" us as his new patients. Our family doctor doesn't take any regular vincination for the children. Then after a few painstaking experiences of finding the right place to do so we found that it'll take at least TWO months for my baby girl to get a regular infant shot. We just cannot believe it!!! I feel so shameful that I used to complain when I need to wait for more than 10 minutes for Mason's shots at the hospital. James and I have a couple of things that need specialists' attention than a family physican and we really don't know HOW LONG that will take...maybe it'll faster to simply travel back to Taipei for these medical needs. We used to be able to walk 3 minutes down the street and receive specialists' treatment or 1-20 minutes away to major hospitals. We have never even heard of months of wait for anything not even major surgoery.  We keep saying that we need to stay as healthy as possible!!!

Hard worker

Mason is such a hard worker. When his eyes open in the morning, he never stops. This evening, he again tries to stay awake playing and then we find him sleeping on the floor. Sweetie, please go to bed early without a fight, you know you need it and your mommy and daddy too.

My bugs bunny

Mason loves bugsbunny and it does come handy too. When he refuses to eat carrots on the dinner table, we only need to mention the name and he chew down like bugsbunny. We were at the supermarket and somehow Mason finds the carrots himself and insists of buying them. Well...without poses like this, how can we NOT?

chcolate popcorn for breakfast, anyone?

This morning, Mason came to me in the kitchen to ask for some water but his lips and hands were full of chocolate. I never give him any sweet in the mornings and James was not home so I asked him where did he get it. He showed me with excitement of his new creation. There were some leftover popcorn in the bucket and he got chocolate syrup from the fridge and pour A LOT OF IT all over the popcorn. I can only say "you like it? " Then he gave me a big chocolate smile. I told James about it later, he replied instantly, " I thought about doing it but never did it yet." What can I say, like fathers like sons.

My princess is 6 months old!

My beautiful princess is 6 months old. I know this may sound typical but it is true that I cannot believe she is already 6 months old. She brings so much joy to our family. She is always geneous of giving smiles. She sits now and she doesn't like lying down much. She crawls a little backwards. She adores her big brother, she laughs and giggles at EVERTTHING he does in front of her. She eats solid food well as it is shown well with the first picture with her chubby chicks and I especially loves it. She cannot have enough of hugs and kisses and just so happen that I really don't mind keeping up with these demends. I love you-Isabelle~try not to grow too fast.
